Benson Church Bell Ringers

About

The church tower holds a ring of 8 bells which were originally cast in 1781 although two of them have since been recast. The bells are rung regularly before the main Sunday service, for church festivals, on special national occasions and for weddings etc. The bells are also rung on practice nights and on other occasions such as group practices with other ringers and by visiting ringers. Ringing is a very sociable hobby enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Normal ringing times

Sundays 0915 - 0955
Wednesday practice nights 1930 - 2100

Eligibility

We are always on the lookout for new recruits and are willing to teach male or female of any age, normally from about 11 up to senior citzens. At present we are short of ringers and have to rely on ringers from other towers to help us out. The only committment is to be willing once trained to ring on Sunday mornings.
